Are you living or are you dying?
Have you asked yourself this question? Funeral Babe posted about this recently and said “Quite honestly I don’t know the answer to it. I thought so long and hard about this. You are simultaneously living while you are dying. All we are really doing is surviving. From when we were born, our natural instinct is to survive. Everything we do is based on survival. When you really think about it, we were made to survive, only to die in the end.” Unfortunately most people are so busy they brush any thoughts like this away. But dying is an important topic. Don’t be afraid to face death. Ask the difficult questions. All too many people live their lives just studying, working as hard as they can. Day in, day out. Same things. But is that actually living? Are they actually happy? Are the other people who have attained everything most of us are working for (money, cars, properties, etc.) truly happy? More often than not, we can see even the richest and most famous people in the world are not perfectly happy. Is that living or dying?
A different perspective on living
From different spiritual perspectives, living was not just “existing.” We exist, no matter what we do. Living is not just working, resting, eating, etc. Even animals and insects do that. According to different spiritual perspectives, living would mean that a person is not just “existing” or “surviving physically but is also happy and satisfied within themselves. Free from fear. In short, all too often our confusion in this world about living and dying comes down to us believing that we are simply this physical material form/body and nothing more. But when we even just consider that there is a possibility that I am a spirit soul, different from this body I am occupying, so many things start to make sense. Living more meaningful. Hearts start to fill with a deeper sense of happiness. Even death becomes less scary.
